Auto Parts Warehouse .com

I am never one to review things, however after my recent dealings with this company I felt the need to fully warn you so you do not run into the same situations I just encountered.

Executive Summary: The most disorganized and incompetent company I have ever dealt with in every aspect from ordering, to order process, to shipping, to returns and customer service.

Long: I needed new brakes and rotors, I typically order my parts from smaller retailers like Bavauto and select others, however I was advised by my mechanic to order Zimmerman Rotors and Textar Pads.

It was tough to find a retailer with both of those brands and items, but ******************.com "did"

I input my vehicle information to the website, it provided me with selected options available for my car, I chose the Zimmerman rotors, textar pads, and standard brake sensor wire.

All three items shipped separately at different times, the sensor arrived a week after the other parts. Issue #1

After taking my car apart and mounting the rotors only to realize they sent me the wrong ones, they were too large. I phoned in. They had the audacity to deny the website flaws until I walked them through the process and showed them it provided incorrect fit options for my vehicle. At this point they said I could return the parts. They were going to make me pay for shipping HAHAHAHAHA, I don't think so. Issue #2

I now have to wait 3-4 days to receive a Return authorization number and Shipping label via email. This is unheard of in all my time dealing with online sellers. Issue #3

I am then connected to a Part Fit Specialist, he helps me find the correct part numbers and assures me that all items are in stock and will fit my vehicle. I demand overnight shipping as I'm not without a vehicle, the manager said parts will not ship if he comps the shipping price, so he will discount the parts (but not for the full amount of the shipping cost) Issue #4

At this point I want the parts so I pay and I'm done dealing with it. Only to get the invoice and realize they billed me for PAGID pads and ATE rotors. WTF is this a black box you reach your hand into and get what brand they decide? No I specified zimmerman rotors and textar pads and was assured they would be shipped. Issue #5

Furthermore, I'm still too annoyed with the overall process to call and deal with it so I decide I will just accept whatever they ship me and slap it on my car and be done with it.

I then receive tracking information. The pads shipped out. The rotors are out of stock!!! I was just assured that they are in stock ready to ship and will fit my vehicle, what changed in 5 minutes!? Issue #6

I called cancelled the order and will be obtaining parts through my mechanic this afternoon. All around miserable process, and while attempting to be helpful, the customer service people could not be more oblivious to anything business related with absolutely no understanding of customer needs and most certainly no technical knowledge of anything automotive. ISSUE #7

So now I sit with an extra set of brakes, waiting for return authorization and a card that has been charged for all parts totaling around 400$ and will not be refunded for assumingly 2 weeks, that's if everything goes smoothly, which knowing these people it will not. Horrible horrible experience, stay away.

Haha, I remember these guys. Placed a couple orders with them years ago. One had no issues, but the other turned into a mess due to wrong parts and a lack of competent agents. In the end got everything resolved, but I never went back.

I have never had a problem with them. I've even returned an unneeded part and they supplied me a shipping label. Also, everything is always delivered within three days after the order being placed (i'm in CT too).

First off, your mechanic seems like a smart and reasonable person.
He knows his brands and clearly doesn't have an issue with you purchasing and bringing your own parts.

You've been a member here for a while. While it sucks that you were dragged into this mess, you should've known better.
Living in the continental US, you have a huge plethora of reputable retailers to purchase your parts from.
Auto*parts*warehouse.com isn't one of them, and is demonstrated by how the forum itself filters out their name like a curse word..

Frankly, I'd have a harder time not finding a place that carried both Textar and Zimmerman.

it should be filtered!!!

you're right, i should've know, and while I had a sneaking suspicion this would happen, they had what I needed (so I thought) at what seemed a reasonable price, what could go wrong!

and yes he is a good guy, I use him for the big stuff, and he helps me out with the small. He ordered me these parts at his cost, even though I'm installing them myself... Nino's in Simsbury, CT

If you don't get satisfaction with them in a reasonably short time, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. Then the vendor will have to argue with your credit card issuer, not you.

And while I'm here, a shoutout for oembimmerparts.com. Great prices, great service.

It used to be my favorite online store. I had to return a thermostat I bought from them, it was leaking. Prices have increased and the website isn't as easy to navigate, as it was before.

Autohausaz.com .... first choice outside of discounting BMW dealer sponsors. Been using them for years for various brand vehicles. And yes, they carry Textar pads and Zimmerman rotors.

Don't get me started with this vendor. By FAR the worst company to ever deal with. Bottom line is, my credit card co. had to refund my $$$ because these jacka$$e$ never had the advertised part and would not refund my money. The WORST.
