Why do liberals always lie?

Obama lies to cover his a$$.

Drunk, illegal uncle gets arrested before the election = "I've never met him"

Years later uncle tells world that they not only met, but that Obama lived with him = "Oops, uh, mmm, OK, here is what we will say..................."

(CNN) - The White House clarified Thursday that President Barack Obama did live with his Kenyan uncle in Cambridge, Massachusetts for a "brief period of time" before attending Harvard Law School in the 1980s after previously saying there was no record of the two ever meeting.

Onyango Okech Obama, President Obama's uncle, was granted permission Tuesday by a federal immigration judge to stay in the United States, where he has lived illegally for the past five decades. In his testimony before the judge, Obama's uncle mentioned that then-student Obama had stayed with him for three weeks after he was accepted into law school.

The White House was asked about their relationship in 2011 at which time the administration denied the President and Onyango Okech Obama had ever met. Carney retracted that information Thursday saying that the President himself had never been consulted about their relationship.

"Back when this arose, folks looked at the record, including the President's book, and there was no evidence that they had met. And that was what was conveyed. Nobody spoke to the President," White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters.

"When Omar Obama said the other day and there were reports that he had said the other day that President Obama, back when he was a law school student, had stayed with him in Cambridge, I thought it was the right thing to do to go ask him."

Carney continued: "Nobody had asked him in the past, and the President said that he in fact had met Omar Obama when he moved to Cambridge for law school and that he stayed with him for a brief period of time until his, the President's, apartment was ready."

Carney said after that period, Obama and his uncle "saw each other once every few months while the President was in Cambridge" but eventually "fell out of touch."

The White House said they had no record that the President had met his relative after his uncle was arrested for drunk driving in 2011. The driving violation brought to light Onyango Okech Obama's illegal status, and he was then ordered to regularly check in with immigration.

"The President has not seen Omar Obama in 20 years, and has not spoken with him in roughly 10 years," Carney said, adding that Obama had "absolutely zero" involvement in his relative's deportation case.

It seems that Onyango Okech Obama's appearance and mention of his nephew's stay before law school in immigration court earlier this week was what prompted the White House to take measures to correct the record.

The administration's initial denial that the President had met his uncle and subsequent reversal of the record raises speculation that Onyango Okech Obama's court appearances and immigration status first led the White House to distance the President from the controversy and deliver misleading information.

Obama attended Harvard Law School beginning in 1988 when he was 28 after serving as a community organizer in Chicago.

FYI, I don't partake in this kind of stupid arguing. I did in this instance, with proximity to Lair's thread, I just laughed. Who would make a thread like Lair did, when the truth is all politicians lie to further their agenda. Only a fool would try to slander one side of the isle about the subject of lying.

Dumb inconsequential lie, but still a lie.

It is not, but it is further insight as to the pathological lying of the POTUS and his crafted personal biography.

Yes but his aunt was ordered to be deported in 2004 after a failed attempt at asylum. Just wondering if she is related to the uncle.

Obama wins Lie Of The Year.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/obamas-k...e-of-the-year/

Quote:
President Obama’s assurance that “If you like your health plan, you can keep it” was named the “Lie of the Year” on Thursday by PolitiFact, a fact-checking organization spun off of the Tampa Bay Times.

Mr. Obama’s promise, repeated ad infinitum during and after the health care bill’s passage through Congress, was a “catchy political pitch and a chance to calm nerves about his dramatic and complicated plan” to overhaul the country’s health care system, PolitiFact argued. “But the promise was impossible to keep.”

“So this fall, as cancellation letters were going out to approximately 4 million Americans, the public realized Obama’s breezy assurances were wrong,” PolitiFact explained. “Boiling down the complicated health care law to a soundbite proved treacherous, even for its promoter-in-chief. Obama and his team made matters worse, suggesting they had been misunderstood all along. The stunning political uproar led to this: a rare presidential apology.”

After the cancellation letters began pouring in and the administration found itself on the defense, Mr. Obama apologized to anybody who felt misled by his statement.

“We weren’t as clear as we needed to be in terms of the changes that were taking place, and I want to do everything we can to make sure that people are finding themselves in a good position, a better position than they were before this law happened,” he told NBC News in an interview last month. “And I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me.”

Still, the administration has insisted that nothing in the health care law explicitly forces insurance companies to cancel plans or shift customers to a new plan. But the law’s stringent grandfather clause, intended to preserve existing insurance plans, only applied to plans that were in place before the law was passed and received only minimal changes since then. Any substantial alteration to a grandfathered plan would subject that plan would to the minimum coverage requirements stipulated by Obamacare. If a plan did not meet those requirements, it would be canceled.

Those complicated policy mechanics, PolitiFact argued, were not adequately captured by the president’s glib declaration, which he repeated throughout the 2012 presidential election.

“Obama’s ideas on health care were first offered as general outlines then grew into specific legislation over the course of his presidency,” the organization noted. “Yet Obama never adjusted his rhetoric to give people a more accurate sense of the law’s real-world repercussions, even as fact-checkers flagged his statements as exaggerated at best. Instead, he fought back against inaccurate attacks with his own oversimplifications, which he repeated even as it became clear his promise was too sweeping.”

Several of PolitiFact’s recent “Lie of the Year” rulings have focused on the president’s health care law, which has become the subject of misinformation from all sides. In 2010, the fact-checking organization condemned Republicans’ claim that Democrats were proposing a “government takeover” of health care, noting that the Democrats’ were merely proposing a system that “at its heart…relies on private companies and the free market.”

And in 2009, the organization called out former Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, who warned that Democrats’ health care reform plans would create “death panels” to ration care provided to the elderly and infirm.

I guess I can go to the local cut-rate doctor who does accept my insurance. But I would have prefered to keep what I had.
