Exclamation E46 320CI Climate Control Mystery-Help Pls

Hello

I have recently purchased a E46 320CI and am very pleased with it overall, however we noticed the climate control only blew hot air no matter the temperature setting on the climate control panel.

I did some digging and found some answers to my problem. I was told it's either the 1) Climate unit itself ( apparently very unlikely) , 2) the Heater control valve (Probable) or the Final Stage Resistor (Hedgehog? Also probable).

We have had both 2) Heater Control Valve & 3) Final Stage Resistor, replaced with genuine parts and we have had mixed results.

We still get only hot air from the footwell and window vents, however now we can actually get colder air from the middle vents (just above the climate unit) but only when set to cold on the actual vent.

Although better than before we replaced the parts, it still isn't working properly and the only thing left would be the climate unit itself, but this I have been told is unlikely to be causing the issue we have.

Can anyone suggest what we do next?

Thanks

Did you try the Water Valve? That is also common heating issue if stuck open.

Iv just replaced Final resistor after blower stopped altogether. It solved the issue and was quite an easy fix.
