I don't know about you guys, but my car, 03 325xi automatic with 88000 miles, has been kind of rough running, not performance wise but vibration wise, since it was really really cold. Now today it was in the 50s and the car is silky smooth again? Wtf? I was all prepared to do motor mounts, front axles etc this spring. But I guess it's just cold weather related vibrations. Does anyone else notice this? I'm very picky about any noise or vibration that isn't supposed to be there and it was driving me nuts. Today I was happy

A lot of our xi's do this, check out this thread they try to find a fix.
Many said that they only notice it during colder weather.

Has nothing to do with motor mounts and axles. (although as it seems, those probably need to be replaced too depending on the mileage of your car) Just do some standard maintenance (DISA, VANOS, MAF). Our engines are very picky. They work well under stress, but if a very small issue occurs, the engine under-performs. Make sure to keep up on maintenance for maximum driving enjoyment and performance

edit: i just read 88000 miles. Seems young for axle replacement, but I'd give it a go if i was you

Just gave her a wash after the snowmageddon we had here in the midwest. My few modest exterior mods include: 18" style 162 wheels off an e90; color match vinyl wrapped the trim; BMW gloss black kidney grills; clear tails, corners, and side markers from Turner Motorsport; front license plate delete, and 30% tint all around. That's it.

Thanks, man! I was worried before I got it too---there aren't many non-m's that pull it off!
