Just saw a screening of this yesterday with a cousin and wow!

If you liked black hawk down, you will like this modern military action film.

Did they only focus on the firefight, or did they portray the events in the village? The trailers that I've seen show almost nothing regarding his time there.

The movie was long and showed 15% character development, 70% firefight, 15% village in that order.

If Mark Wahlberg starred in a movie called "Grass Growing", I'd watch it

robbing with a sword is a good thing

That movie was quite intense, wasn't expecting that. Like an hour long fire fight

laughing hard.

Im still paying for all the hard liquor I drank. Of the 20-30 people invited, 12 showed up but my wifes cousin brought his girlfriend and her friends so there was wayyy more skirts than I expected.

the girls drank and was on my karaoke machine til 3 am.

I only have one picture around 5 when I started the firepit.

Anyone know how close to the actual events this move is?

My cousin is a Marine and saw a special screening of Black Hawk Down with a few guys that were actually there, they said the move was spot on, I've heard conflicting stories as to how accurate this new movie is.

From reading and watching, its very close what happened in real life. If you have not heard of operation redwings, or do not know the events that took place, I would not click this link as it may spoil the movie for you. I didnt know and read it only after the movie.

there's some speculation as to the accuracy of the book's accounts, and discrepencies between Luttrell's AAR, the MOH write-up, ground intelligence, and aerial observation.
