eBay - Car Parts No Longer Qualify For 'Bucks' Earnings.

I know I know: "just buy from one of our sponsors", which I have. However, some parts I've needed have been even cheaper on the Bay. In turn, I'd use earned 'ebay Bucks' to buy more parts. Anyway, I received an e-mail from them a couple weeks ago but forgot about it.

Quote:
Purchases from these categories don't qualify for eBay Bucks:

eBay Motors categories, including Parts & Accessories
So, everything under their 'Motors' category is now null and void. Fantastic. eBay has made some really aggravating changes over the past few years. Just another one to add to the list.

A rewards program if you're enrolled in it:

Quote:
you automatically earn a percentage of the item price of your qualifying purchases in the form of eBay Bucks. When you earn $5.00 or more in eBay Bucks in a calendar quarter (every 3 months), we send you an eBay Bucks Certificate after the quarter ends. Once your eBay Bucks Certificate is issued, you have 30 days to use it.

eBay decided that they were going to do away with the "only ship to the lower 48 states" check box, so if you did not have any exclusions listed in your shipping policy (which also changed), and you also have free shipping like me someone internationally can buy your **** with free shipping. I caught it with 1 purchase, thank god it was only going to PR, and not some ridiculously far country.

I called ebay and said WTF man, why did you change my policy and they tried to tell me that someone has my password and changed it. I said no one has my ****ing password, you removed the check box, and within seconds she offered to pay the whole cost of shipping for me. Do you really think that after selling for over 5 years that I JUST NOW had someone buy something outside of the lower 48? Do you honestly think that someone went on there and the only thing they changed was my exclusions list?

Ebay is such piece of ****.

eBay docks you with a 9% seller's fee and then another 3% fee when you use Paypal which is managed/owned by eBay.

Vinnie, same thing happened to me. Threw a high-end piece of computer hardware up and some dude from Bulgaria bought it. Me: "I have all foreign countries blocked. How was this person able to purchase it?" Them: "We recently made changes to our shipping policy and if your boxes weren't checked then you might have a virus on your computer" was the response I got. lol. I spent 3 HOURS on the phone with them before they cancelled the transaction. Their 'customer service' in regards to helping sellers is absolute garbage.

Aaaand don't forget, they also charge the seller a fee on your shipping cost (obviously no fee if you offer free shipping). I think that started last Spring. I've barely sold anything on there since.

HAHA it seems like they handled my case a little bit better than yours. When they offered that global shipping center **** it seems like they did that in an attempt to boost there international numbers. I hear if you opt into there global shipping program there is no way to opt out.

eBay Canada discontinued this program altogether earlier in 2013.

It was good while it lasted (for buyers)

It's amazing to me that a non M E46 is such a beautiful car but the E46 M has never done much for me.

Uhh... actually shipping to PR is a big deal and easily twice as expensive through most carriers (for something like a laptop). I had this happen to me too years ago.

The worst part was calling into eBay and being told by TWO reps there are 52 states in the US and I'm obligated to ship the item to PR. PR is a territory and despite whatever connections to the US it has, shipping carriers still treat it as foreign air mail only.

I haven't left feedback for buyers in years. When I can negatively rate some of the dipshit buyers out there, I'll participate in the feedback system again.

Shipping through USPS I didn't have much trouble, It was at least 3x as expensive but it was a small part, and ebay paid for it. It was supposed to get there in 3 days with priority, but ended up taking 6-7. Now this will probably effect my rating if this guy wants to be a dick, because my 1-5 day shipping time that I have listed is still valid.
