What's the point? The only Skyline that really matters is the R34 and maybe the R33. And even then the steering is on the wrong side.

You guys are missing the big picture. The cars from Europe and Japan that are not allowed here in the first place are starting to become the age that they will trickle in. think of all the old school BMWs we never got that can finally come here... Porsches...

I wonder though. Since they worry mostly about vin plates and such, couldn't you buy and scrap an R32... And put the vin plates and other stuff on an R34 to get it in here? I know it is technically illegal, but how would they really know if the law it to check a few plates and stickers?

LOL they already do that with like 300zx's and stuff to get the illegal skylines on the road now.

I'm assuming if you owned a dealership though, and had dealerplates on it they couldn't do **** to you.

I wonder if there will be just as much red tape when the R34 is allowed to be brought over

If you think you can find all the hidden VINs on the car, go for it.

Also, the VIN will be recorded as a destroyed vehicle. You won't be able to register another car under that VIN.

I kind of assumed. MY only thought was that since we didn't get these cars in the states, most agents probably don't know every place to look and check. Further to the point, I thing the chassis and dash VINs and associated emissions stickers are pretty much all that they would check.

No border agent from Canada to the US is pulling dashes and looking at the inside firewalls.

And more to that point, I realize VIN swapping is illegal, but since the car never originated in this country, how could the US classify it as a felony, if it was done outside of the US. Just a thought. I see Ferrari guys rebuilding complete cars from a VIN tag and it is legit.
