GTR Skylines Can be imported to America now!

If it were that easy, we'd see a lot more R34s here by now.

No border agent from Canada to the US is pulling dashes and looking at the inside firewalls.

And more to that point, I realize VIN swapping is illegal, but since the car never originated in this country, how could the US classify it as a felony, if it was done outside of the US. Just a thought. I see Ferrari guys rebuilding complete cars from a VIN tag and it is legit.
vin is also stored electronically in most newer cars (not sure about the skyline)

either way the r32 is badass, would love to have one!

Would we? You literally have had 3 days to get an R32 in this country legally. How would you have vin swapped an R34 into an R32 previously?

If it were easy as you suggest, VINs would be swapped from any old Nissan on to a Skyline to be illegally imported.

No. I'm speaking specifically skyline to skyline... Not 300zx's or an old sentra.

That is why it is different. Kind of like taking an E46 M3, and swapping over the vin numbers to a CSL right now. What border agent would be able to tell?

I understand the age and technology is different between models on the skylines. It was a thought experiment. I'm not advocating it, and I'm not endorsing it be done.

I'm just saying that if it were as easy as swapping a VIN plate to fool a dumb border agent, we would see skylines with five and dime VINs running around.

$30,000 will get you an R34 thats been drove hard. There was a r34 for sale in California a few months ago with 60 original miles, bone stock, not street legal, and the dealer was asking $90,000.
