Almost finished beefing up my M3 conv

Hello everyone,
My name is Gabriel Just joined this site and just bought a 2005 M3 conv. I have been beefing her up for the past 4 weeks and I am just about finished so I thought that you would like to hear about what I have done to her. First she is a 3.2 6 cylinder with the SMG trans. I installed a complete exhaust system that I bought from Speed Daddy a 2.75 inch system headers pipes flow through cats and the rear performance muffler. Brembo brake system drilled and slotted rotors red calipers new stainless steel wrapped brake lines complete suspension system from speed daddy adjstable front and rear struts, Springs, rear stablizer bars frfont upper and lower suspension bars this lowered the car about an inch. new sway bar links that had to be shorter. a K&N cold air intake system new High Performance coils quad +4 spark plugs new high performance fuel injectors a higher pressure fuel pump new fuel filter new blue silicone coolent hoses and a escort 9500 radar system that cost $1,450.00 I also replaced all of her weather striping the panel under the windshield wipers all the light bulbd with LED blue higher wattage ones new 19 inch mag wheels staggared and 4 new 19 inch Falcom tires.oh and a new nav radio and a digital oil gauge. I will post a picture after she is complete and I have her detailed. But I did spend a ton of money on parts. But it has been a fun project.

Welcome to the forum! Just a tip, you lose power with your cold air intake.

cold air intake

Hello,
Why would the engine loose power with the K&N cold air intake all it really does is open up the air flow to the engine and now that I installed headers and a performance exhaust system she should spin freely. After all any engine is not a gas powered spinning energy source but an air pump powered by the fuel. Do you know why it would???????

There is quite a bit of discussion on this. On a stock car, the general conclusion was that you're either going to stay the same or with some setups, lose power. However, with a modded setup (like you have) with a tune (which you may or may not have, if not, you should) you should be able to net a small amount of HP. The stock setup on our cars is very good, most people just do a drop in K&N if anything.

My 2005 M3 SMG is completed but all at once this happened!!! The tach, Fuel Gauge, door locks, shift indicator not working stays in reverse, no fog lights, or back up lights, no temp gauge, and she starts right up but no matter what gear I put the shifter in no movement at all from the drive line she is still up on jack stands with all of these things going out at the same time I thought that it must be a fuse but all fuses are fine I even changed several fuses that looked funy but still were working but what could it bee any thoughts???????????????????????????????????????????
