STOLEN!!!! 8.5" LTW wheels in Culver City

BMW people please keep an eye out. Last night tc535i's E36 was left on blocks. Stolen were a rare set of 8.5" Motorsport wheels on 245/40-17 Hankooks. They were recently refinished and were in perfect condition - very unusual and distinct set of wheels.

That's what I figured too. No one would steal 'stock' wheels off such an old car in that manner.

Anyways wheels were recovered last night. BIG thanks to everyone for their support, and the gentleman who showed what real character is.

Theif had swapped two of the Hankooks for Goodyears and put them on Craigslist within hours of stealing them.. rest of story here:

Great ending. I was ready to start hunting these down. Just curious did the wheels have locks? No absolute security but good thing I have locks + tilt sensor and since my car is close to me while I sleep, I will come outside immediately and lay the smack down once I hear the siren.

Both my kids left their bikes outside all night sitting by the sidewalk. Still there in the morning.

There's a place and it's called Camarillo Heights

I would argue that anecdotal evidence is hardly proof for believing a place is truly safe. As with cars, you buy into the idea of security/prestige/value, but it never guarantees it.

yep one example: simi valley is known as one of the safest areas in the united states (at times even ranked #1 and #2) but i've known people that had their cars vandalized there. People from bad areas can travel to nice areas to look for nice things to pawn like precious stamped ltws.
