Very nice! Another touring! I guess you haven't read over this forum otherwise you'd know that non OEM bumpers ALWAYS have fitment issues and if you don't want to deal with that you buy OEM. And the window trim does not need to be painted. Much easier to vinyl wrap it.

i just bought my wagon and started working on it, i haven't had a chance to read anything yet but i will once i move into my new place.

i'm def going to look for an OEM bumper in the future but for now the fully painted moldings should keep me happy.

i've never wrapped anything before but i've be interested in learning. i'll def look into that option.

Wow, I had my eye on this one and it was 20 mins away from me. Spoke to the owner and I agree he was a complete DB. Said he wouldn't even lower the price by a dollar lol if you knew how much they paid for it, you'd cry lol

Congrats, that's one clean xiT, I'll be watching this thread. Looks like you have great things in store for it

yeah he was a piece of **** but i got him to drop the price by $1000.
after flying up there, taking the bus to the subway then a taxi from the subway to the dealership, i was still prepared to walk away (which didn't scare him much). But I've watch enough Wheeler Dealers to know how to check a car out...lol

BTW it was raining and that turned to snow as soon is i arrived at the dealership to examine the car....one of the worst experiences of my life was buying and driving this car home but it's all been worth it since i've had it.

I moved from Baton Rouge, La - Dallas, Tx on January 28, 2014

-1 month of packing boxes everyday
- 13 hours of loading the truck with just my friend Nick and myself (David was able to help the last 5 hrs)
-2.5hrs sleep
-12 hrs of driving a 26ft uhaul with a trailer carrying the M3 on completely frozen roads through a snow storm (its usually a 6 hr trip) while David Morris bravely drove the wagon behind me.
-10 hours of only 2 people unpacking the uhaul (6 of which were up 3 flights of stairs)
And I'm almost finished!!!
Now I just have to unpack boxes and find room for everything...lol.

literally the entire body was covered in a thick sheet of dirty ice

the wagon was even nastier than the M3 so before i got to my new home I had her washed

and we all finally made it

Real close to pulling the trigger on an Mtech 2 front for my touring. I was looking at getting one from Khoalty also but I'm not feeling too good about that now.

apparently OEM M-tech is the only way to go. i haven't started sourcing one yet but once i get settled and sell a bunch of stuff i have in storage i'll start looking.

I just wish there was a middle of the road option. I haven't priced it out yet but I'm sure the OEM parts are gonna cost ALOT. And the aftermarket options are just too cheap.

Let me know what it costs total for all the oem parts. I hate the front bumper I have now but I don't have the money to blow on an oem setup.

first thing was cutting the threads way down....

didn't need to cut it out for anything to fit so i decided to just keep it this way.

the Accu Air management system

and this is how you hold a wrench with only 1 person...wedge it against something

i originally decided to hide everything on this little shelf, but i eventually scrapped that idea in favor of a more modular system

cutting out mounting holes for the compressors

1 Mounted, 1 to go

the bigger the washer the more stable the mount

both mounted

the new mounting spot

Next i needed to find a mounting spot for the ECU.
Decided to have it face up because i like the lettering and the black and gold...lol

wires will be hidden underneath

bye bye circular storage area

this is my first stopping point

my air tank is smiling at me

just a donut as a spare for now but i'll fit a full size in the future.

i decided to buy a pancake tank b/c it fit much better inside the spare tire well without taking up too much space.
it's still a 5 gallon tank.

i had to stop here b/c i was a few days away from my big move and had to finish packing.
i'm also a bit intimidated by the wiring and all the air hoses. Not a ton of info supplied by the instruction manual but i'll figure it out.

unfortunately i moved from a large garage with all my tools to an apartment and most of my tools are in storage. Finishing this build is gonna be a challenge but it's only till september. I hope to have everything done by the end of February depending on how cold it stays here.
