Looking at all of these coilovers online for $800+, the packages look IDENTICAL.
This isn't me justifying, but what corners must have been cut?

Quality. Metals used. Seals used. Metal gauging. Anti corrosion used. Gas used. Spring quality. Paint quality. Weld quality. Actual testing to see if the rates are even close to matching up.

^^^ What he said.

Also, chinese copies may LOOK like coilovers but who knows what they put in there?

If you don't want to pay I read that Street Edge coilovers are decent in the lower price range.

Good luck.

Just read in that thread that they have a used set for $300. That might interest you.

Nevermind, a new set is just $350 : http://www.thesuspensionsource.com/s...eries-e46-2wd/

Looks like the price dropped a decent amount for these coils. They also offer 10% off. Just an option for you, I have no experience with this brand but at least you have other forum members who have tried them. I would rather try my luck with these than some unknown eBay brand.

That was really helpful and I appreciate the time you took! I'm thinking about just going BC, or actual ST, as I've heard generally good things.
I'll get a few hundred back out of this, that'll go towards the fund.

Found them by searching "E46 coilovers" and sorting by lowest price first.

Picture of the box reveals that they are branded "G-Plus"
