New Headlight Questions

Back in 06 when i first purchased my 01 325i I made the "smart" decision to install cheap aftermarket "HALOS" that look absolutely terrible. It is time to rid of them (one was recently scratched in an accident as well) as I can BARELY see even with the brights on.

the model is here:

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/99-01-BMW-...htm?click=6596

pictures attached of the Xentec Xenon kit under the hood. I am guessing i should rid of this as well.

Dont ask how I have been driving like this for 6 years, but i do need help converting now. Should I just go OEM? OEM Xenon? I am guessing i will have to remove the Xentec and rewire the new lighting. I am looking to spend $4-800. preferably closer to 4 as i still have other work to do.

I am trying to get this car on the road looking clean again. Would appreciate any help here.

My personal opinion on this matter is buy OEM halogens (can be picked up for around $200) and add a projector/xenon retrofit kit. I would recommend checking out TRS (http://www.theretrofitsource.com/)

You can easily get OEM xenons for that price range. However, SoCal's suggestions of retrofitting is also a good idea and a little cheaper. SolidJake has a good guide on retrofitting sedan lights.

Good god do not buy those headlights! Those look awful, do a projector retrofit like others have said and buy a good set of angel eyes ( Umnitza makes good ones.)
Like WD said check SolidJakes guide for the retrofit. This thread has all you need to know http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=840919

checking now. thats the problem BLAZING. i DID buy those headlights a VERY long time ago. I am finally putting a significant amount of money into the car - inside/mechanically first - aesthetically last. I do not have my OEM headlight assembly so will be starting from scratch here. It seems my best bet will be buying OEM Headlight Assembly and doing a Retrofit conversion.

- this video was pretty insightful as well.

I guess my main question is how hard is it to remove that Xentec Xenon kit to install the OE wiring?

The OE wiring should not have been removed unless the guy who installed it was uh for lack of a better word stupid.

Sorry I can't read. I just click links... I feel very sorry for you having purchased those. The only decent aftermarkets are P46's, I still prefer OEM though.

This is the exact solution I would do if I was in your shoes. Below are a couple links I found for used OEM units:

BTW - we've been expanding our retrofit projectors for some time, we'll begin offering the RX350, LS460, and even the infiiniti Q series projectors if you are interested along with the ever present FXR and Mini H1.

Either get OEM projector lights with ballasts or get halogen ones and retrofit in the morimoto projectors.
