Anyone know of a good file transfer service?

The catch is that I need to transfer directories and files without compressing them... no zips.

Obviously FTP will do that, but I need something that is...
  1. user friendly, like for your grandma (your grandma isn't user friendly, she needs something user friendly)
  2. no compressed files
  3. browser based, no software installation
  4. doesn't require recipient to register

Basically something like yousendit or sendthisfile, but without zip files. I believe dropbox and skydrive requires registration. Does anything like this exist?

Edit:

To be more specific, I need to deliver photos in subdirectories to various, unrelated clients. So something like Google Docs or other cloud share wouldn't work either. Also looked into Aspera, but that's more ambitious and costly than my needs.

Also failing that, is there a way for me to create a download link on my website that would do the same thing... download an entire directory of files? Either as a right-click or direct link?

I use Dropbox 2 GB plan. You just send your client or grandma the link. They can view the images before downloading them. Entire or right click. I shot a weekend event at my alma mater and after editing I uploaded them to Dropbox folder on my my computer and emailed them the link. They followed the link and picked out the images they want to use for the website and newsletter. In the email I initially sent, I stated that these photos will be posted for 1 month. This way they can share them with others.

I also have set up in Dropbox folders I share with a few of my clients and friends. If we want to send me something, we just put in that folder. After they receive the files I delete them.

You can access it on your devices. iPhone iPad Android etc. You get more GB when you refer a friend. I set up my parents to dropbox so I got more space.

Side note{{{ I wish Apple would bring back their FTP files storage. The thing was great. I could send my whole song files which is huge. Have it password protected. Most of my friends/musicians used it so we could send stuff back and forth. For others it was just like you clicked on a site and just clicked the link and the download started. Also, you could set how long you want to have the link up. i.e. 7 days, 30 days, 2 days, 24 days lol.

Apple went back because with iCloud you can't share anything.

As far as I can tell, on dropbox if you want to download the entire directory it converts it to a zip file if you don't have a dropbox registration. I need to avoid compressed files.

I just saw your other post.. If you are trying to avoid compression then just buy a jump drive, add the files and mail it to them. The most you are talking about is $2 to mail.
