500K salaries, no, nice cars and very high salaries, yes. The executive director of the NJEA Vincent Giordano gets 500K and drives around in an S class...and of course, his kids go to private school.

According to the NJEA he makes 326k. Regardless, why hate? If you wanted the cash you should have tried for the job. And he is one person (who doesn't even make 500k). So, what other memebers making bank and living the high end life?

I have routinely turned down jobs that pay better than mine (hotels) because I refuse to work with unions. I walk the walk. Personally, it bothers me that he makes that much and drives around in a benz, but it's honestly not that big a deal to ME....the NJ teachers that are bitching that they don't make enough...might want to take a look at their union reps...who apparently make a fortune....while the teachers are the ones that do all the work.

Yes, this guy really cares about the kids and the low income parents. Go unions.

The weather here was in the 70s, mild and sunny, so I spent the day outside, eating ice cream and taking my dog to the park. What did I miss? Did anyone post a clear, reputable source that two retired teachers (even NY, if you have to use that example) can take home $180k per year? When that statement was made, it was made to sound that they absolutely can do so, so I assume finding the figures to show that this is the norm and not an outlier should be pretty easy, right?

So, has there been anything?

So, you want me to copy and paste thousands of entries into an excel spreadsheet to come up with a bell curve or something? What you showed me is that you're incapable of backing up even statements that you make with absolute certainty.

No, I said it was absolutely possible that two teachers can bring in 180k a year in pensions. For proof, I linked ALL teachers' salaries and also linked pension payouts. Pick two, pretend they are married....VOILA

Even if I gave you the benefit of doubt (which I don't) that you meant something more open to interpretation (which you didn't), your links still prove nothing.

By the way you said they absolutely will, not that it was "absolutely possible".

I hope your job doesn't affect people's lives very seriously. If so, bring a Marisa Tomei character with you to court, Uncle Vinny.

Why doesn't that mean a union. They are private organizations after all. They are not publicly traded companies. How those workers choose to organize is none of your concern. Unless you are ok with no private businesses as well. Either a business is a public corporation or they cannot exist. You OK with that, too? Or are your rules selective based on who you agree with and who you don't?

And if the entirety of the fast food workers choose to withdraw their labor and strike in support of the McDonalds workers, such is their right? Or are you saying people do not have the right to strike?

And as I said earlier, Unions should be evaluated on a case by case basis. Get rid of them if you have to, but provide a viable alternative. You're full of *big ideas* kid. Go implement them, make them work, then maybe I'll show you a shred of respect.

Despondent? What makes you think I'm despondent? Do you even know what the word means and/or using it in the proper context?

Oh I see what you did there. Ok well, my fault I wasn't really paying attention because I was out with the the wife and kid. But a) I wasn't defending that action and b) it doesn't change the fact I still think you're a spoon fed brat

But if it makes your internet pride feel better, I'll throw you an e-bone.
