I just noticed this as well...not sure what doing that will do to the structural integrity of that strut tower....looks like it was done to get the engine to fit....

No it was done to get the intake tubing to fit.... I am sure if he had a bigger budget he would have found a different way.

Video of it running works for me. This is a very impressive swap so far. What will you do about the door panels?

Awesome looks like it is slightly better condition than my donor car, on mine two wheels were ripped off from impact. If it does not want to start, there is a fuse inside the positive terminal on the battery, it pops, just rip it out and connect it directly and car should have power.

1. I had the shell so I did not have the HVAC in my E36 anyway and it is something that you should not worry about, just keep everything on your E46, there is no need to do what I did.

2. Keep your E46 window control
3. keep your E46 steering system
4. You will have to use both fuse boxes, but it is easy because there is room for the E90 fusebox on the right side under the hood.
5. keep your E46 lightning system
6. keep your E46 door lock system

I did what I did because I did not know what works and what doesn't so I transferred everything from E90. You don't have to do that. Best thing to do is to transfer as minimal things as possible to make the swap look clean.
That is what I will be doing next. I want a nice swap and not a hack job

It starts...

that fuse didn't blow it started right up. I have the sport steering wheel with the paddle shifters so I wanted to have that working in there too. This is why I was thinking about transferring everything over and figure out how to get the windows, lights, wipers and door locks to work.

You can install just the steering wheel with small modification, paddle shifters are just two switches that's it. You can even make the E46 M3 wheel work. Transferring all the wiring is very time consuming and will just kill your time.
