Tolerant Liberals Eulogize Shirley Temple Black

http://twitchy.com/2014/02/11/fck-sh...oaring-racist/

Quote:
Saddest part about Shirley Temple dying: I learned on Wikipedia that she spent most of her post-acting life working for the Republican Party—
Andre Nantel (@nantel) February 11, 2014

Well, Shirley Temple was a Republican.

“@WFSBnews: BREAKING: Former iconic child star Shirley Temple has died at the age of 85.”
BREAKING: @FoxNews lost an old white viewer.

Rick has a martini (@RickHasAMartini) February 11, 2014

while everyone (over 60) is doing their Shirley Temple memories, here is mine: She was a republican… i didnt need to know anything more—
Left Justice (@TurnLeft16) February 11, 2014

I'm not sure which depresses me more: that Shirley Temple died or that she was a Republican who supported the Vietnam War.—
Jenny Schulz (@jenneferschulz) February 11, 2014

Twenty years from now most of the Republican Party will be dead. Shirley Temple was just another old conservative who now can't vote.—
Nate Igor Smith (@drivenbyboredom) February 11, 2014

Shirley Temple Black was an inspiration to so many child stars who dreamed of becoming adult Republican idiots.—
Gil A. Waters (@GilWaters) February 11, 2014

I dunno. I though Shirley Temple died when she became an active Republican.—
Joe Szalai (@JoeSzalai) February 11, 2014

RIP Shirley Temple, gorgeous little girl pity you became a Republican.—
Julie Balloo (@julieballoo) February 11, 2014

Pity people have to act like callous jerks.

I had no idea Shirley Temple was such a staunch Republican. I guess the "Good Ship Lollipop" was really a INS deportation boat.—
James Kass (@jameskass) February 11, 2014

Farewell Shirley Temple Black..You were a cute,talented kid.Then you grew-up and became a Republican #RIP—
Pablo ™ (@pablo210) February 11, 2014

Sorry not that sad about Shirley Temple because she became a conservative nut bag.—
Jim Morrissey (@heimaeyus) February 11, 2014

It's sad whenever someone dies; but Shirley Temple was an Anti-Choice, Republican who wanted to abolish welfare.—
Lorrie Boula (@lorrieboo) February 11, 2014

RIP to adorable child Shirley Temple who died long ago, withered into a steely-eyed conservative hate-creature.—
Connor Goldsmith (@dreamoforgonon) February 11, 2014

(too soon?)—
Connor Goldsmith (@dreamoforgonon) February 11, 2014

No. Too douche.

R.I.P. #ShirleyTemple an iconic image and brand as a child marred in adult life by her unfortunate right wing Republican tendencies—
Damon Kruezer™®© (@thekruezer) February 11, 2014

Shirley Temple was a Republican? #OhMy Before we post about her we should wonder what the she must of thought about minorities #RealTalk—
Torch FM (@TorchFM) February 11, 2014

These geniuses don’t wonder about that — they know. See, according to them, not only was Temple Black an evil Republican, but she was also a rabid racist:

also shirley temple was racist in case anybody is wondering—

It is amazing how the internet pulls out much hidden hate. I certainly never come across people like this on a daily basis. Makes you wonder about the true nature of some people.

It's pretty easy to google *any* dickish hashtag about *any* popular person who reveals their political party and find ridiculous comments amongst probably thousands.

I think it is just the opposite. Heck, I am frequently an asshole in PT but seriously I'm a nice guy in person. Reminds me about how I used to drive: if you cut me off or went too slow I'd make sure you knew I was pissed. But if you did the same thing to me with a cart in the grocery store I wouldn't care at all. Driving and internet posting allow anonymity and manners to lapse.

I dont drive like that anymore, so maybe I'll stop being an agitator in PT someday.

Except for me. I one of the most laid back, keep the peace, and level headed people on here. Swish edges out slightly ahead of me. He has his wisdom and age while I'm still dredging through my youth.

Is the difference on how you act because in person you are accountable? People can put a face to an action whereas here you are simply a face hidden behind an internet name?

In real life being an asshole is who you are provided you can avoid accountability (the asshole driver statement)?

Not sure I follow, but I genuinely like people so it's more like on the internet or in the car, you aren't required to acknowledge the other person's humanity like at the grocery store. So I think in-person is the real me, internet not so much. Make sense?
