Buzzing/ And ccv wookie after doing VCG/VANOS

http://www.e46fanatics.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=812110 - the noise sounds exactly like the video in this thread.

I just did the VCG and Vanos seals, now when I start the car up it makes a continuous buzz, when I drive till it is warm it will minimise. When I turn it off it does the Chewbacca noise for ~2 seconds.

I have read its a ccv issue? I heard it may be the ICV also. Anyone have any experience with this? The noise sounds EXACTLY like the vid in the link up top.

My question is why would this manifest now?

The old VCG was folded over at a back corner causing a oil leak. That would also cause a vacuum leak? Maybe that masked the bad ccv untill everything was sealed up tight?

The other thing I interacted with with was the fuel rail, there is a vacuum line on the back if it that looked very worn. Maybe that broke, and its what is causing the buz? Going to look shortly.

I just took it out for a 40 or so mile drive. The noise has diminished alot. On the way there was a little noise at idles. When I got back there was no noise at idle/parking. When I shut the car down it was silent at first then there was a little baby wookie noise. Like pressure venting off.

I'm wondering/pondering if the RTV offgas may have mucked my ccv.. not likely IMO. or maybe it has been fouled up by the vcg haveing not been sealed all the way, and now everything is tight pressure is actually going where it should/ pushing through gunked up ccv parts? There was some brown residue in the hard tube steming off the VCG.

Definitely ccv. When I disconnect the vapor return hose and plug it the noise stops completely. When i blow down it with the car running, it increases and gets louder. My car is playing the ****ing fog horn.

Such an ****ing annoying noise, about to take an axe to the engine block for a quick fix.
