warning tone,'06 325i

I am new here to this Forum and lookink for an answer. The warning tone that happens when the key is in the ignition and door is open or an seatbelt is off while moving etc., stopped working a few days ago on my 2006 325i. Any ideas out there? I checked the fuses, all is good there. A friend says that is part of the instrument cluster and an expensive fix. I'm hoping he is wrong...

Your car did for you what many try to do on their own. But I'm guessing that either you like having the feature or it just bugs you that it went away without explanation. Perhaps a battery disconnect might reset it?

Thank you John. I will give that a try. And yes, you are correct. It bugs me that it went away without knowing why.
