Exclamation Anyone have a problem with keyless entry?

It seems that very regularly I have to push the unlock button many times to get the other 3 doors to unlock. Sometimes I even have to re-lock and then unlock over and over again. Does this with either key, and if you lean in to push the unlock button on the center console, it won't operate either. Kind of embarrassing when someone is on passenger side waiting to get in, and this car won't unlock just by pulling interior door handle.

This is completely random, but does it once or twice a day.

The module that controls the door locks is the GM module that can sometimes fail. There's a site that either rebuilds yours or you can buy a rebuilt with a core. Does it unlock the driver door on the first press every time?

Thank you

Sometimes the driver door unlocks, other times not... have to put the key in the door.

Thank you for that web site info... it's very helpful!

Same thing happens to me. Seems to happen more often in cold weather for some reason.

I've just never gotten around to getting my GM5 repaired.

I did not know about keyless entry.

Was this an option?

I think he is referring to pressing the button on the remote to unlock. Not the leave the key in your pocket "comfort access" offered on new bmws.

the button on my key has failed twice and I've opened it up and repaired it successfully. The switch underneath the rubber breaks it's solder joints and becomes intermittent.

Yes....why wouldn't it be? Keys are not drivetrain dependent.
