@tommy. In the post where you show your test with the valentine radar .. I see two different avant units?

The first one has more buttons? What is the head unit, is it the avant also?

It's an E39 version. Same thing in a different form factor.

This product has the cleanest UI I've seen, great job on this device.

Just one question I have:
Is this unit compatible with the OEM or any aftermarket headset integrated Sirius tuner?

I've had a Zune (now XBOX Music) Pass for many years.. seriously stoked that their is a droid client now and will use it as my primary music source on the deck. I will be attaching the 3g USB as well, so can have realtime data full time.

I haven't researched it, but I have been thinking about a USB modem. Does anyone know if a Verizon 4GB will work? I am not sure how common place the drivers for these modems have become.

The unit is installed. It looks really good. The wires were a challenge to cram behind the radio. Time to start learning what an Android radio is all about.

On another note, this is a really nice unit. I am glad I waited so long to buy one. The list of improvements I am sending Tommy are only small things and suggestions for the manual. Nice job Tommy. I opted for the Bluetooth OBD2 link and I just purchased Torque. This is going to be fun.

Now just time to pick up an amp. I have a set of BA Proseries 6.5 sitting on the shelf just waiting to get used.

Sounds nice! It would be cool to see some clips of start up, scrolling and muti touch response.

I have just installed the new unit last night, everything worked out of the box ( almost everything), and unit is very responsive, very fast

0. steering wheel control worked, only tried volume button

1. Bluetooth pairing with the phone worked last night, but this morning the NAV unit seems to not see my iphone, even though the iphone says it is connected to the NAV (still need to play around and see if this can be resolved)

2. Copied Sygic 13.4.1 to my 4GB sd card and used file manager to installed the App, succeeded. However running the App says I have no map. I copied maps to the Maps folder for the App to the Sd card and in Settings I moved the App to Sd Card, still can't find map (need more time playing with android, first time using the os)

3. radio worked as expected, run out of time so didn't not route the Iphone cable and another USB cable out (they are routed to and tucked at the shift nob right now for later installation)

4. haven't tried the OBD torque decoder yet, will try once my iphone works well with the NAV every time the car turns on, since it's also bluetooth.

I want to use another file explorer, but every app (astro, es file explorer...) will have an an forced close. Why? Did you have disabled this function? Have to copy with the file explorer some files....

How i have to format an 64gb micro sdxc card?

Many apps require that the date and time on the unit is set correctly before opening the app. Those apps first check if the date and time is correct and if it is not it will automatically close the app. This applies to the Google Play store app as well. So if you recently installed the unit make sure to set the date and time correctly first before installing any new apps.

Also some apps require you to be connected to the internet so it can "phone home" and possibly check with the Google play store to see if you have bought the app or not.

So if you are having sudden app closes on first opening the app make sure you check these:
1. Date and time is set correctly.
2. You are connected to the internet.
3. You are logged into your Google Play account.

Not all apps require all these things but some do.

You can format your 64gb micro sdxc card in your laptop or desktop computer and format it FAT or FAT32.

Wow, I came here because the screen on my Dynavin broke (no longer accepts touches) and I find this! This is awesome and I'm excited to see if it makes sense to replace.

Quick question, if I've already gone through a Dynavin install, can I use the same harness cables that I ran from the back of the car (NAV car here)? Or do I need to re-run the cables?

Thanks!

Long time no see wanderlustman!

The wire harness is somewhat different than the dynavin's although similar in concept.....different pin configuration, different ibus box setup. It would be relatively simple though to cut off the old plug and splice on the new one and sort it all out. If, of course, you know how to do that sort of thing, otherwise a shop could do it for you. In either case, easier than replacing the entire cable.
