ATE 4pot caliper polish

Thought this might interest some, bringing a set of 4 piston ATE calipers to a mirror finish. Will update pics as they progress. At this stage they are partially filed and sanded.

Nice. Are you going to clear coat them?

To be honest, I haven't thought as far ahead as to whether to clear coat them or not. They needed to be refinished, once I started stripping them back, the castings were fair, so I started to file them flat and the surface smoothed out pretty quickly, so I thought 'why not'.

Bit more progress, I knew if I was going to keep the raised lettering it would be fun!!!

Have been using needle and rifler files, as well as engineering scrapers to get this far. Last photo is the original surface condition under the powder coat.

They are from a 325 BBK that was made by ATE. The discs and pads are at the end of there life, so adaption will be required for the 330 and I will retain the m division rotors. They clear 17 inch wheels, i just have the stock wheels for now.

I hear you with the wheels jimmy, but they are last on the list of things to do.

I missed out on a set of hamanns when I first bought the car, and haven't seen any I like better since.

What are you rolling on at the moment jimmy, these would look hot as on an M3 lol
