The cars never gone to Calder, but I had an opportunity to have one of those boxes strapped in with the gps and accelerometers. The bitumen it ran on was utter rubbish, I normally spin in first, maybe a little in second, but on this surface it span through third. I only got the one run, but according to this unit it did a quarter in 13.1. I got stomped by the other cars lol.

I am very keen to hit the strip once I replace the clutch. I would be very pleased if this was accurate. Even more pleased if it came under 13 on a sound surface.

Hopefully end of April, early may, I will try and get it in on a test and tune day and get a 100% time.

I am hopeful of a little more umph with headers and full exhaust, and hopefully the ssg will play nice with a moderate weighted steel flywheel.

Time will tell

My Ride: Whatever runs
The effort involved !!! Looks Fantastic.
I got bored and started doing a similar thing on my Dirtbike Subframe few months back.
Gave up half way through, its all hidden by plastics, and so much effort to get it to shine nice.
Will be worth it once your done !!! Will you clear coat them at all ??

Might be a dumb question, but will the finish be affected with the heat at all ?

I doubt they will get hot enough to change colour. Aluminium generally goes from solid to liquid retaining the same colour. I am still undecided on whether to clear coat or not. I am in no rush to get these fitted, so I will high polish them and let them dull off, then decide. I may have to rough the surface to get the clear to stick, then get the gloss through the clear. I have left over 2pac clear, so I may even spray one and see how it goes in comparison to the other.
