Does putting an air freshener in your Bimmer count as a mod? If so, one mod down!

I'm 35, I have two young kids and my wife is still at home so there's no extra money/time for mods, although I sneak a few in. I drive beaters but two cars ago (about 6 years ago) when it was time to move on from my 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 with 300K km's an '98 e36 318i came up. After I bought that car I found that I can buy older BMW for the same cost of the beater Ford's and they are way more fun. When that e36 hit 300k km I wanted a newer body style and a bigger engine so here I am.

38 married with three young boys. And always being told that I don't have time to work on the car, I'm amazed I even get to wash it some times.

I feel like age groups you used should be revised:
16-21 (half-way retarded and think they know lots of stuff)
22-30 (Realize how retarded late teenagers are but haven't yet realized that their brains are not yet fully developed and believe they make good decisions)
31- maybe 38 (Now realizing how stupid I am and trying to work hard and hopefully be able to wing it until I gain some experience and wisdom as my kid are getting older and my wife keeps giving my reality checks)
Maybe some of the older guys can chime in on where the split is after 40
Nailed it, couldn't of said it better myself!!!!

36 here, I'm the same boat^^^^^^^!

While looking for a new commuter I got my 2003 325i for 4k with 92k on the clock in great condition. Dumped 2k`ish into it for preventative diy maintenance. Still feel like I came out on top!

Why are you trying cover up that crayon scent that was so carefully engineered into our cars?

46 years old and only mods you can't see... Unless you count dumping the style 45's in favor of 68's.

I do love a quality stereo! That's one thing I know I won't grow out of. I woke up early today, had to put my share in cleaning the house so I can squeeze some car time in this afternoon. I'm hoping to complete my stereo build today. It's been more than a month since I pulled the old one out.

jmillsner, what do you have for your stereo?

Exactly.

25 here. Mostly upgrades during maintenance but I have thrown in a few modifications here and there purely for fun.

Oldest still, I guess. In Fanatic's years, I feel around 90.

49 here. No mods on my car. First BMW picked up October of last year. Diggin' it and doing maintenance as I can. Cars have always been a to and fro' thing for me or they had to serve a purpose. That changed with the BMW. Just put up my '94 Ford F150 for sale today because I haven't been rehabbing properties (carrying drywall, cabinets, fridges, etc...) lately. That truck has been my favorite vehicle to date with the exception of the BMW.
