Headlight lense removal affect gasket?

I have an 01 325ci I'd like to take off the headlight lense and clean the inside out but I'm afraid they will leak then ounce I take them apart. Any input? I'm sure someone has done this already. I saw plenty of diy on the lenses but nothing about it then leaking.

It's fine. If you are worried, you can purchase new gaskets

They do wear out. I replaced my lenses at year 6, but the lenses didn't start leaking (fogging up) until year 10. So I say replace it when you open it up and be done with it.

First thing I did when purchasing my 325 two months ago but I just changed out both complete headlight assemblies (with new bulbs) for $135.00 total.

I recently replaced my lenses, but not the gaskets. One headlight was fine afterward, the other leaked. I then bought the gaskets and did the job all over again.

I would recommend spending the money and getting a new set of gaskets if yours are old.

You'll be fine as stated. I took off the lenses a ton of times with no issues afterwards.
