My Ride: sedans and wagon
Advise please: Going from auto to manual tranny?

I am doing a transmission conversion from auto to manual on an M52 motor for my '00 323i sports wagon. I sourced a TCU (transmission control unit) and the wiring harness from a '00 323i sedan manual transmission and am wondering.....if I use it for my wagon if I am going to get an error code with it not working with the current DME I have on the wagon? Do I also need to obtain the DME from the sedan as well so the two work together thus eliminating error code if that is such a thing? Any advise on those who have done this conversion would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Search the DIY forum for info, there should be a few write ups on the complete procedure.

You don't need to buy a wiring harness. It only requires a couple wires to be run. There are many people who have done this conversion so search first.
