Every four years....I get excited for the world cup. And then I watch it and realize English soccer is the only soccer worth watching.

The officiating is awful. Diving is rampant. Everything is politicized. Meh.

Every country has its good and bad parts... I like how the media outlets always blow things out of proportion when a huge sporting even in held in another country besides the good ol' US i.e. Sochi.

Not to mention the cameras are useless. Do you remember the call that was made when Germany in the 2010 WC hit the top part of the goal post, it reflected and bounced down to the ground and bounced inside of the goal and tied the game? The officials were saying they had cameras to determine if the the ball bounced inside or outside of the goal when it hit the ground, but ultimately the referees would make the final call implying that the cameras do not have as much of an impact as you would think.

i guess ill root for the dutch. as long as germany and italy don't go too far. i hate those guidos that never watched a game of soccer in their life get all into the sport only when their team wins , just like the usa.

Germany to win the World Cup with Goldon Boot will also go to Germany's Marco Reus.

As an Englishman, that post is insulting - it was Frank Lampard for England who hit the bar when we were 2-1 behind against the Germans. The ball bounced so far over the line that even FIFA, who up until then had maintained a firm "no technology" stance re goal-line incidents had to concede that it was a good idea. We went on to get thumped 4-1 in that game and the EPL now uses Hawkeye to determine if the ball has crossed the line...

We're in a tough group with the Italians, Uruguay and Costa Rica - if Suarez doesn't make it we may make it through, if not I fear we wont get through the group...

There is definitely more and more interest and momentum with every WC. There's lots of support clubs, groups, etc. in my area which is fantastic. We're a big soccer town, though, too but I think any big city area has plenty of fans.

US kits are sweet, just wouldn't mind a little more blue, maybe switch the blue and red?

That'a boy. Reus is the man. I am hoping Germany wins it this year, they were so close last time around! I'd like to see USA do well but I don't think theres a chance of them getting out of the Group Stage.
