So you end up with this:

FL: 72cm
FR: 31cm
RL: 21
RR: 0

Those numbers are a starting point but you will want to get you final number by using your ears. The goal is to create a solid aural image of each musician at a certain point in space on a a perceived soundstage. In a recording there are sounds and musicians to the left, the right, and the center, it's the center that we are concerned with here. Most of the time the drums and primarily the vocalist are in the center. We want to select a music track that has some space in it so we don't want a heavily overdubbed recording with lots of backing vocals....too much noise.

Set the fader to the front so we are only hearing the front pair of speakers. Enter the delay numbers above and put on some music. It should sound pretty good. Then raise one side of the delay settings, say the front left. As you do this you will hear the sound change, it will become hollow, out of focus, kind of a "in a tin can" kind of sound, your front speakers are now out of phase. Then lower the setting, as you pass the correct setting you will hear the sound come back into "focus", the vocals will move to the center of the car and become more solid. Keep going and you will hear it go out of phase again. Now go back towards you original setting again and listen as the music becomes focused again. Somewhere near the number we calculated above you will find the "sweet spot" where the vocals and bass are centered in the car and solid.

Then fade the rear speakers back in a little bit at a time until the sound is full and pleasing but not at the expense of the solid centered imaging. And that's it. Now you can play around with the EQ and other audio adjustments.

Try the above and if you have never hear a time aligned system you might be suprised by what you hear....it's a different experience than you are used to....

Let me know if you have questions....I've been running time alignment in all of my personal cars for....a long time now...
I finally got around to trying this. Sorry for the delay, just been a bit busy. This does produce quite a different listening experience. The sound is more "full" and feels more centered around me. As I was tuning it I found it hard to tell when it was just right though. If I strayed far from the numbers you gave me it did start to sound a lot more hollow but near the starting numbers sounded right so I ended staying with those numbers. Interesting stuff. I think it would be useful to have a preset memory feature so that I can disable time alignment and turn it back on to my previous settings quickly and easily. Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, thats what you should hear, it should sound full and centered.....only things panned right and left should come from the sides, the rest should sound centered in front of you, play with the fader as it should sound better with if faded forward quite a bit.

Has anyone tried to play HD music albums (96kHZ/24bit) through a SSD to Aux like a DAC? In formats like AIFF, ALAC, FLAC, WAV. Installing unit next week and looking forward to finally having a good car stereo!

Hello everyone,

I just like to say thanks to Jeff @ J and T Distributing for the excellent customer service and support given before and after the purchase of my Dynavin N6. Jeff answered all my questions quickly and thoroughly, he was available to respond to my emails even during early morning hours, as well as after business closing. It arrived very well packed and within 5 business days after ordering. I can't thank Jeff enough and highly recommend him and his company if anyone is considering buying the N6 Navigation System.

BTW, the N6 is a great unit, I am very satisfied with the overall upgrade, it had made a great difference in my OEM H/K sound system. It simply sounds great! The N6 its loaded with very useful features and I cannot had made a better selection.

So thumbs up both to Jeff and to Dynavin for a great product

- every time I on unit it start playing movie from SD card by it self

My unit soft version is february 2014, is there newer version available? If yes where I can download it?

Also have some question:

Feburary!!! Where did you buy that thing! The N6 didnt come out until JULY!

You need to contact whoever you bought that from and work it out, I dont know what you have there but it certainly isnt current.

email me......but ill tell you right now, I have no idea what you have there, could be a prototype somebody pawned off on you.... and if so, WHO KNOWS if it will work....

Frankly you either got ripped off or made a bad purchase decision....and your experiences on the unit are not exactly valid or appropriate for this thread since its not even a production unit.....

Ill try to help you but no promises....

As I said above, email me.....

jeff@jandtdistributing.com

WHY doesnt the seller just email you the current software? Thats EXACTLY what IM going to do....

Honestly I dont quite understand why these dealers play stupid when it comes to this stuff....it all lands in my lap because of my high internet profile and its starting to make me cranky...

OTHER DEALERS OUT THERE, I AM NOT THE WORLD'S DYNAVIN CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, TAKE CARE OF YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS, YOU PROFITED FROM YOUR SALE, YOU PROVIDE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Its not your fault, Im just getting a little since ive been contacted FIVE times just this morning by someone else's customers looking for help with something because their dealer was being unresponsive or they bought some old broken thing on ebay or they lost their SD card....it goes on and on.

I like helping people out but when I spend all morning dealing with other people's problems it gets REAL OLD.
