Symbolic Rims

Guys,
I am going to order these rims unless you talk me out of it.

Do you think they will look good on a 330i 2002?
Also, will an E46 support these in 20" x 8.5??

Don't mind the haters.

With those wheels your car will look right at home parked outside a Title Max.

Oh god, don't do it OP. If those were 18s, maybe, but 20s will look pants-on-head retarded.

Since when did being a baller become such a crime?
Maybe I should just buy a trailor and watch Nascar all day.

If they are so hideous it is strange they cost 1000 a rim.

Perhaps not as bad as Spinners, however, still awful. With 20's will look super ghetto!

Well I disagree with you. I think they are sick. If I wanted a cookie cutter wheel I would shop at Sears.

Nothing says balling like $4k worth of wheels on a $4k car. If you like them then why even make this thread.

hey, if you want to spend the value of your car on ugly wheels, go for it. You won't find many people here supportive of chrome, or 20" wheels on a non-M, let alone a sedan.

sounds like every other "what do you think of X" thread. If OP doesn't get "sick bro, do it" comments, he whines about haters.

But speaking of cookie cutter wheels, you can find a CSL rep with a lip from pretty much every sponsor here, the biggest difference is that they'll be from a reputable company sold by a reputable retailer. Just because they cost a lot doesn't mean they're quality.

I like them, but I just wanted an honest opinion as to wether other people like them regardless if they think they are wigger wheels. It is so easy for the internets to draw criticism and usually people only post negativity.

Let's put aside the whole awful wheel style thing for a second and get one thing straight.

20" will look retarded on a 330i.

Look, it's like this:

1) Big wheels like those have Fitment Issues

2) They are Heavy, & make for a noticeable poor handling Bimmer

3) The outside diameter is Much bigger than stock, this messes with the speedo

4) Your one 20" wheel costs as much as four wheels from almost any manufacturer

5) Did I mention that they'll handle like a pig, oh yeah I did

6) My gut is telling me you're Trolling all of us,.......Are you trolling us

In all seriousness, 18" wheels on these cars is your reasonable limit, most that go to 19" wheels regret it & sell them.

Good luck,
Rob43

Well, maybe you're on the wrong forum...

Most on here are enthusiasts of BMW's e46, which has a European heritage. Because of that they seek to follow European tradition when stylizing their car to be somewhat subdued while trying to get as aggressive a look at possible. Something that has kind of a mysterious head-turning quality to it without the urge to shake your head in disbelief/disgust/disdain.

It's all opinion of course and everyone has one. Me - I don't like it. I don't like chrome on e46's. Polished aluminum is about as bright as I like and not the whole wheel. I don't like black wheels either. You asked for opinions.

The wheel itself isn't that bad looking to me but it looks way to busy in chrome. DPE had a wheel somewhat similar to that at a similar price point. 20" rims on a 330 will work if you size tires appropriately to maintain overall stock tire diameter (that will keep the speedo fairly true). The downside is that the sidewalls will only be about an inch tall, which means bent rims on most roads. Nineteens are a good compromise...

Or put 20's on with 40 series tires and lift the body about 8"-10" and your all good... on a different forum.

I think those kinds of wheels would look better on cruisers like an older caddy, lincoln or a town car. BMWs are still performance cars, even the slow ones. It's like putting high heels on Michael Jordan. If you really feel the need to glam up a BMW look for a 7 series, it will still look like frosted flakes but the 7 is more of a cruiser than the 3 series.

The purpose of these rims is simple. To get college aged woman to believe I am a baller and to demonstrate that I have thousands of dollars to waste, preferably not on them. BMW's are expensive cars. How many people do you know shell out 30k for a fuking sedan? Then to go ahead and put it on 5 grand worth of rims shouts arrogance and ignorance at the same time, a message I am proud to deliver. Also I could care less about the performance. I am cruising the strip, not street racing for slips. As long as it draws attention to me and demonstrates my lack of financial responsibility and artistry, they should suit me just fine.

Well, I can tell you know your market and your principal target. So I think you have the best wheel choice. But I still think the 3 series is a lightweight cruiser. I would trade up to a five or a seven. You need inches man... the more the better.

Wow, now I understand. I'm not a believer,...but I understand.

Why not spend the 5K on H00kers, you'll have more fun.....I think.

Good luck,

I don't like intricate chrome wheels. If wheels are chrome I want them simple. Crazy wheels like that look cheap no matter how much they actually cost.
Also, 20" is just too much on a e46. Especially the non m.
It's just the style of the car. The wheels wells don't allow a wheel that big to work with the overall style. Just like an 18" wheel on an e30 looks huge like no other.
