Yes I said both of those things...but also said to stretch after a short warmup? No stretching = bad. Cold stretching = bad. Warm stretching = good. Cool down stretching = good.

Fuq this.

I suck at running and am not even close to solly levels of fitness but even I finished every day in week one of C25K without even being out of breath or in pain. I didn't start getting really tired or out of breath till week 4 or 5.

You need to do more high impact workouts with a couple days rest in between. Sore shins = weak calves. Do butt kicks or high knee running exercises with some agility thrown in. That should fix the sore ankle issue.

Yeah I'm so out of shape All I do is sit at a desk all day.
I do too, no excuse. Once you get the hang of it (and buy the right shoes), you'll start to like it. Keep your knees light, land mid foot, and know your limits. You'll be just fine.

When did I say cold stretch? Lol there's many forms of stretching. I never said one over the other. People just assumed... Mistake on their part

OP finally bought running shoes and is going to give this a shot!

Got some Asics GT2000, recommended by several friends. Went to the store, tried on multiple models. These fit well and are very natural feeling.

Running sucks. Anyone that enjoys it is messed up in the head.

I hate running. But I do it, and I always feel good afterwards.

Same here. I got a friend that does marathons a few times a month just for fun, atleast a 5k a day, and an ultra 1-3 times a quarter. He did a marathon on a treadmill for charity.....

The guy is maybe 5' 4" and a bit stocky too. I just don't understand it. Another friend I have does ironmans and some of the tough mudders with me and days f that much running.

I went to a 6 hr lap run with the ultra guy and a few of his buddies did a marathon before they even came. All they do is run outside of working.

I don't understand the dedicated marathoners. It's actually bad for you after a certain point. Have fun with that knee replacement.

^ They should buy a car. It's much easier to get from point A to point B using a car.

I have always ran since i was young, and then in the military, and afterwards too. I did a 10 miler like 2 years ago.. shortly after wards I had knee surgery and told myself no more than 6 miles from now on. Was thinking of doing a half, but have since decided against it lol

I still run at least 1-3 miles 3-4 days a week and enjoy doing "fun runs" and mud runs, etc but no crazy distances.

I have a marathon friend too, I think everyone knows one.

I don't plan on doing anything crazy or long distances, just getting some coordination and balance back. I do bicycling for cardio primarily.

Agreed. Not so long that you become a slow-ass with no top speed. Not too short to limit aerobic ability. You can make it through any pick up sports games as well.

I remember that 10 miler...

I've done 2 halfs, don't know if I'll do one again.

I did do warrior dash not to long ago. Was fun.

Right now it's been 5k.. Hoping to do a 10k in the future
