New pads not making full contact?

Hey guys, I searched for this topic but didn't find anything, so apologies if it's been covered.

I recently replaced the pads on my 330ci (pagid reds from bavauto) on all four corners. Install went off without a hitch and everything feels fine while braking. However, I have noticed on my driver side rear rotor, a ring of rust from what I assume is the pad not making full contact with the rotor. It's only on the driver's side, which I think is weird

I have bedded the pads once, but was planning on doing it again today. However, if that doesnt work I am out of ideas. Any thoughts? It looks awful and I cant imagine that ring building up is good for anyone

You need to disassemble the drivers rear & diagnose the problem. If at that point you can't figure it out, start snapping pics so we have a shot at helping you.

What if... the previous pad has worn the rotor unevenly and the new pad simply doesn't touch the over-worn part?

Did you install the factory brake pad retaining / anti-rattle clips? The pads probably just need time to wear down a bit.
