x,k,ka bands on radars
hey i hope this is not a stupid ? but what do the x, k, and ka bands on a radar detector represent? thanks

they are different types of radar.. different frequencies or something like that... the oldest one is X.. but basically its just the different types there are..

X band is used mostly by traffic sensors and many sliding doors. K band is also used to sliding doors, but a lot of police departments use it. Ka band is exclusively used by Police. I have my radar detector configured to ignore X band.
