UUC Rasp-X is too expensive for me. An alternative....
I would really love to go ahead and order the UUC Rasp-X, but right now I am low on funds, and was maybe considering having something custum fabricated by a shop. I read the post explaining the Rasp-X and how it functions, and it doesnt seem to hard to make. I mean, by a professional shop of course. Can someone tell me why the Rasp-X is so expensive? I mean, I know UUC parts are top end quality, but its just piping, ya know? Anyone out there who can shed some light on this topic, please do so!

*cough* And you think that getting it custom fabricated by a decent shop is going to cost you less? And what if the end result sounds like ****? You'll just have wasted your money.
Wait until you can afford something pre-tested, rather than slapping some jury-rigged contraption on your M3.

If its not just piping what else does it consist of?
I am not bashing UUC products here, keep that in mind.

However i agree with you, if it's too expensive for you (IMHO, it IS too expensive) i would tottaly try to fabricate one myself or have someone fabricate one and see what happens, hey you might end up w/ a great piece) I say go for it! |

I'm sure it's more than piping...R/D is expensive too though!
![]() Just pay the 1K or otherwise u risk paying let's say $500 and then having to pay another 1K IF the sound isn't what you wanted.... Granted 1K is alot for just a crosspipe but oh well, M3's aren't cheap to begin with...hehe rk |

frankie, just drop the dime on the UUC unit, and go right the first time.
talk to john from jersey about his.. think he matched it to a Remus, and is very happy with the overall sound.

Looks like two specially tuned resonators to me. Rob answered this question once before. Search and you probably can find it.
If you feel that it is nothing more than a couple pipes and some boxes by all means get one made. People are simply trying to help you out. Tim
