Question Ride quality from Cup Kit!!!

Hi, i'm just wondering for the people in this site who has the Cup Kit installed. How is the ride quality of it? I'm planning to get it, but want to get some more input from others who have it. Thanks ahead for all the input.

Ride quality is great. I was sitting in my friend's ride when my car was at HIN. And you know the Seattle downtown, roads are very rough, and it ride really nice.

Another question about Cup Kit!!

Sorry guys, but this might sound stupid. Are the Cup Kit like coilover system or is it just springs and shocks?

springs and shocks... but the shocks are matched against the springs... so the shocks are made for the springs...

i'll play devils advocate here and say that i've also heard many complaints about the cup kit... but i've heard more compliments than complaints...

tim330i sent me this of a sedan with cup kit

Not sure if the springs were settled but I didn't think the drop was noticeable. I would like to see better pics but this is all I have...

BTW- not sure who's car this is also. Hope he or she don't mind

well those rims look like 18's... that drop is good.... i don't think you want to slam your car if you drive you car daily. are you going to add a kit to you car? if so you will need some height. 19's look much better with the cup kit.

I've heard mixed reviews as well...

but you are right...ride quality and drop are such subjective criteria. I just can't wait to get my cupkit! I love working on my car!

i heard that the cup kit is more performance and racing oriented. it is more intended for aggressive driving and/or light track use. if you are just going for looks and are just going to be doing daily street driving, then just springs should be sufficient, especially if you have sport suspension.

I have the factory sport suspension with 18" as a daily driver on my 2000 sedan. I'm actually happy with the rear setup. What I want to do is fix the front fender gap. It would be nice if I could purchase a UUC spring set for the front only............. then problem solved. I'm assuming since the springs are matched to the factory shocks, this would not pose any issues of compatibility.

......thoughts ?!!?!?

hey tominizer

the problem is that springs come as a set, so you will get springs for the front and rear. i just purchased a set of H&R race springs to eliminate a possible wheel gap when i have my 19" wheels put on very soon. according to the H&R website, the drop is about .75 in F, .25 in R, which might be slightly off, but should suit your needs very well. the springs should work well with the stock sport suspension.

i prefere changing out the shocks and springs because your sport suspension shocks were meant to be used with a specific spring rate and once you change that spring.. the shock won't be as good. I think buying new shocks and springs is the best way to go.
