VCG = Valve Cover Gasket. Not really a scheduled maintenance item - just replace it when leaking. Just sometimes when you disturb after some time, it won't reseal again properly. If it's been a few years since your valve cover gasket/rocker cover gasket has been changed, just install a new one while you're doing the VANOS seals so you don't have to do it again later.

Alright.. I now want to replace my Vanos seals. I will do a bit of research on parts and where to get them when I get back... It seems i never stop working or planning to work on this car forever...

I have a spare vanos unit (in Sydney) for 3.0L, i bought a replacement from Dr Vanos.

Would be great to do seals on then replace your own.
