wheels and springs

I have a 1999 323I, it currently has 16" rims. I would love to purchase 18" HM2, but my fear is, will it rub. Also if anybody already has this current set up, wht type of springs should I get? I want to lower it, but I don't want to roll the fenders. So bascially, what rim size and tire size can i get to achieve better all perfomrance and looks without worrying if it'll rub.

18x8.5" Hamann HM2s with 235/40/18" will not rub! Get either UUC or H&R springs and you will be fine. It is not the wheels that rub but the tires.

I have 17" wheels 235/45R17 with Eibach Prokit, no rubbing, 323i
