DKM Clutch kits W/ SMF!?!?!?

Got an email this morning from ECS about an addition to their catalog: The DKM clutch kits.

So there's a Stage 1-3 and it also includes a single mass flywheel. Prices start at $550.00 which seems to good to be true for a "stage" package

Now, I tried researching DKM and found nothing for non-M e46's, all I was able to find were topics on the M3's and even then could not find reviews, only posts about Maximum PSI recommending it for their turbo M3 applications.

Anybody have any experience with DKM clutch kits on the non-M, is it worth it?

I'd go with a LuK Dual-Mass Flywheel, and LuK RepSet clutch kit from RockAuto.

$383.58 before taxes for 325i
$443.58 before taxes for 330i

2 things, IIRC isn't the 5mt found in E46s' all the same (ZF/GM), and isn't the ZF the 5mt that was used in the e36M?

My 2000 323ci and 2003 330ci have the same ZF trans so what's the difference between the 325 and 330

Also that price can't be with the flywheel!?!? I paid 300 for just a LuK clutch kit last year, and I've never heard the DMF going for only 150

For what it's worth, ECS Tuning is selling the same DMF for a whopping $499:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-luk-part...217512474~luk/

OEM part number is 21217512474, and says it fits all 3 series models.
I know there is a different in the number of teeth on the flywheel, so that it works properly with the starter.

That, you may want to research further.

Well it's good to know it's available at that price, but the point of this thread is to see if anybody has used these DKM products. If I do decide to go OEM I'll consider rockauto, but this is the first time I've heard of them

As to stages, from the hp/torque numbers given, looks like 'stage 1' means 'mostly stock'.

As in, it's roughly comparable to the Valeo kit. I too am curious to see what people think of it.

fwiw.

Surprising.

RockAuto is more popular in the US than in Canada.

Good luck.

I wouldn't touch anything from DKM, their reputation is unknown. You're going to be a guinea pig for this expensive test.

Even Valeo (big manufacturer) is producing sub par kits for the E46.
My advise is to stick to a proper OEM style kit, unless you're spending a lot more for track / race kits.
