Dipstick gurgling noise when car is running?

When I was changing my oil filter housing gasket I knew I would be adding up to a quart of oil. So after the repair I was checking the oil level and I noticed that even after filling the oil completely, when the engine was running and I was checking the dipstick, I was getting a gurgling or gasping sound.

Is that normal? Is it a CCV-related problem?

Leave the dipstick alone on a running engine.

You only remove the dipstick after the engine has been shut down.

There is a reason the dipstick has 2 O-rings on the base of the handle.

So no reason to change my CCV now? I was thinking something was going wrong.

And after 10-15 years, they become hard, shrink, and no longer do as they are designed. Spending $5.75 on preventative maintenance isn't going to break you either.

Interesting, I will pick those up. I was looking for those but all I could find is the lower dipstick o-ring.
