Roof / Bike Rack

I have been looking for a while and am soon going to purchase a steel blue 04' 325I within the next week or so and I know this has been covered many many times before but a lot of threads I have read, they don't exactly state what they actually have. I have however found a member on here ---- lhuy2733 who has ---
RT 753 Foot Pack
GL 860 Bar Pack
3065 Fit Pack

I really love his setup especially on how low it is, I do however want a black out look to it such as Adam LZ's or known as ---- bmxguitar5

Can anyone tell me what setup is he using such as foot post and style bar including the bike rack, I may go with a 753 Foot pack and the Thule bar style rack and a 38" Fairing just so I can have a low setup but Adams 325I setup looks decent enough that I wouldn't consider being low profile considering how high angle is fairing sits

Thule's website doesn't seem to like our cars anymore, but I found fitting info at rackattack.com.

Thule 480 Traverse - $199.95
Thule Traverse Fit Kit 1095 - $109.95
Thule LB50 50 Inch Load Bars - $109.95

I'd previously had Yakima rack systems on my cars but when I got this one I chanced on a smoking deal on Thule feet that would fit the rails on my touring, so all I needed were the rectangular crossbars. Frankly, I don't like them as much as the round bars that Yakima used, they flex a good bit going down the road and the bikes move around a good bit more as a result.

I don't recognize that bike rack and it doesn't appear to be Thule's lineup anymore. That said, I used racks that grabbed the downtube like that many years ago and ended up with the paint rubbed through, even with the rubber padding. Never again.

I've got a pair of Sportworks racks, Thule bought the design and it's called the Sidearm now, that I've had many years now that I love and got a Thule T2 when I was doing a hitch mount rack because it's the same design. Vary quick to load and unload, secure, and only touches the bike at the fork crown.

Alright so I have found a setup that I am happy with, met up with one of my buds and he has a 09' Audi A4 and I decided that this is what I'm going to roll with, I managed to finally find a site that had 753 and everything I was looking for and even makes it better, the exact option I wanted they were selling as a package - RoofRacks.Co.Uk
Here's My Ideal Roof Rack -
- Thule 3065 Fit Kit
- Thule 753 Fixpoint Footpack
- Thule Square Bars
- Thule 599XTR Big Mouth Bike Rack

I have seen some sedans with the 871XT and the 872XT Fairing, I have read that many recommend the 36" instead of the 44", I seen dl1085's coupe with a 872XT and to be honest, I can't tell what's the difference between the two, I look at pictures to see a different in length width-wise and they look similar in my opinion so what am I missing? Also if I want to, could I buy 3 599XTR bike racks, my bikes are nothing big, just average BMX bikes cause my idea is that the two outside ones the bike will face forward and the middle rack with be facing backwards otherwise handlebars would hit and possibly bike rack arm correct?

Also sorry for the questions and for asking what may already been asked many times as bike and roof racks are popular but I was looking for a specific style and look to it as well and thule is so confusing with all the different part numbers and combinations especially if what you want is no longer available and discontinued, I had to go to 10 different sites to find any info on just the 753 foot pack and even that make it complicated trying to find a fit pack

Can you post picture of your setup when you receive it? I'm interested in purchasing a roof rack for a coupe. In my area, some of the used rook racks still go for 300-400 without the bike rack part. It's insane, lol

Roof racks are expensive.

Had I paid retail when I put together the one that I had on my old Mustang (Yakima feet, fit kit, crossbars, short roof extension kit, fairing, locks, and three bike mounts) it would have been over $1100. Fortunately I'm a good shopper and took my time and got almost all of the pieces at deep discounts and on sale.

I just take the X5 when we take the cruisers... Saris makes a decent piece for the X5 that doesn't require a trailer hitch like the Thule.

Just a suggestion - have you looked at Seasucker products?

I love my Thule rack. Mounts into the OEM slots and doesn't touch any of the paint.

I found a complete package with everything for only 152.10 which is about $200 US and shipping I believe if not free would come out to like $300 brand new, and I never heard of sea sucker..? I'll definitely check them out, also when you install a roof rack do you have to take out the tabs on the side of the rails, if so do they just pop out or slide out
