hazard lights and door lock button not working after air bag recall work

My wife brought car in for air bag and it left without hazards and door lock button working. I know the door lock button worked this morning before the work. Is this related? Do they have to disconnect anything that would effect these two buttons? Thanks.

The airbag module is below the center console. Maybe they had to inspect it for some reason and didn't reconnect the connector on the back of the hazard/lock switch? It's easy enough to pry up the switch to check. Should come out with just your fingernails.

Funny, the same exact thing happened when I got my airbag recall done. I figured it was a coincidence. The switch was plugged in, just not working. I seriously doubt this switch is removed when performing either of the airbag recalls.

I replaced it with a new switch and all was good again.

The guts blow out the back of the center console switch, this is very common. It is possible that someone put the Hazards on or use the center console switch and it failed.

The switch is like $35, but you can often glue the rear back on the switch and save a few $$.

Yup. Most likely the back of the switch broken. There is a Chinese aftermarket version of the lock/hazard button assembly on eBay for under $11 total with shipping. Most are coming out of China, but, there are some US based seller. eBay ID "flygoodly" has it for $10.77 total from Humble, Texas.
I got one a while back just to check it out and the quality is more than decent. I was pleasantly surprised.

Gorilla glue works perfectly to "restore" functionality to the switches.
