Painting OEM M3 parts : Mirror and Spoiler
From the BMW330CI (DIY) site, it says that The M3 Mirrors come primed and ready for painting. How about the Lip Spoiler???
I am a 2001 330CI. I do not need to redo the wiring for mirrors to work, right? http://www.bmw330ci.com/DIY_M3_Mirrors.htm |

The paint shop will prime it for you. Easy as cake.

I just picked up my lip spoiler yesterday. It came primed. All it needs is paint.

The key is to wetsand the primer. The parts have been primed but not sanded. Primer is a rough paint that helps the adhesion of paint. In a bodyshop all primed parts are wetsanded with 400-600 grit sandpaper until very clean and smooth. Remember this is the point that dictates how the paint will look. If the surface is rough the paint will look rough as well.....

Btw, how much did your ACS spoiler cost? Painted and the spoiler itself.

I wanted to ask because having the parts primed already, all they need to do is to paint it. Then the cost of the job is cheaper.
