Wow am I empressed 330ci

I just bought a 2002 330ci and the power they pack is awsome. I sold my mustang GT vert 5 spd. I was waiting for the car car they made for me, and found out we have a family friend who works as the sales mgr at my near by BMW center. I now have a 2002 Titanium Siver with step, Bi-Xenon, Prem and sport package, black leather. I was telling myself I would not get an auto, but I was surprised about the Step great trans shifts everything. So no Steel blue for me anymore, Oh yeah got a great deal on the car too. Yeah so excited took my date into San Francisco for a night out on the town for celebration!!

I wouldnt say that you would totally regret the Step. Esp. if you live in the bay area with all the traffic and hills up in SF. True, the manual does perform a little better.

But congrats anyways!

You're happy with power coming from a Mustang GT? Surely you have to be missing a little of the extra power that Mustang must have packed. I have a 2002 330 Ci aslo and it's an awesome car but I do on occassion miss the power that previous cars have had.

i agree.. unless u were not totally making use of all that power from the mustang! - i find that there are ppl who own Phat ass cars with tremendous power and yet all they do is cruise at 55MPH not making anybody feel bad here.. good man enjoy the ride and congrats again

Yeah, I had a 2002 Audi S4 before I got my 330Ci. True, I miss the power of the bi-turbo S4 - at times - but the overall feel and handling dynamic of the BMW can't be touched. You're going to love it....regardless of transmission choice.

Are you still going to turbo your car? How is that project coming?

S-4 has 250 hp.. treat your 330 to a chip, intake, exhaust and you beat that.

btw.. please fix the typo.. it's unImpressive.

JK3.0,
Yes... right now we're doing some research on which turbo will be most suitable and trying to find out a little more about the transmission. Since I have a step tranny and I've heard alot concern about additional power with the step. I would like to be able to use a super 60-1 hifi (T4 housing ball bearing unit) since that's what I used on my S2000 and loved it and I still have one laying around.

I've got an auto Must GT and an auto 330ci

The power is about the same. I think the 330 actually feels faster because it does it with a lot less drama. I've also got a LT1 firebird. It'll smoke both of these cars, when it's not broken down

The only thing I will miss from the manual is the faster 1/4 mile times and 0-60 but I believe from a rolling start the step and manual are about the same. I could be wrong though :p
