Help With Hiss Please
I have a 03 330ci and added an amp to run a subwoofer. I tapped into the stock HK with an LOC. I tapped into pin 8, 16, 29, and 37 (left and right rear inputs) for signal. These are the inputs before they enter the HK amp. I also used pin number 10 for a remote turn on.
The problem is I now have a low level hiss even with the radio off and slight altenator whine. I have tried completely disconnecting the amp and removing the inline fuse to see if that helped, but no luck. The the amp is grounded to the same ground as the stock radio, but it seems if the amp was the culprit it the hiss would go away when the amp is completely disconnected and the power is removed. The only thing I can figure is the LOC (made by Tsunami) somehow introduced noise into the factory amp when I tapped the wires. If so how do I correct this? Any other suggestions on what may cause the noise? If I have to go back and reinstall the LOC after the HK amp what pin numbers allow me to tap into the signal on teh way to the HK subs? Thanks for the help!! |

Update -
I uninstalled everything including the LOC and returned the system to full stock. Unfortunately, the hiss is still there even when the radio is off, but the car is on. Has anyone else experienced this? Please help. Thanks! |

Jon. From what I have read this is an issue on some 03 330s. Basically, the hiss was most likely there before I did anything. I just noticed it because I was working on the system. It really is to low to bother me now. You can't here it when the car is running. I am about to make another post outlining what I did so take a look. Good luck!
