Im running 2 12's HX2s....... they pound so much that the bass makes the cd changer skips. I am unable to enjoy the bass at the level i want because of the changer.

some people suggested to go with a MP3 device like phatbox or RCA ..... but i rather not if i can fix this problem with some other ways....

whould dynamat fix this if i wrap the cd changer with it? any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!.

How do you have it mounted and what kind of changer do you have? Some times changing the mounting angle of the changer will eliminate the skipping.

Dynamat most likely won't help. I would look into mounting location (it isn't mounted on the subwoofer box, is it?).

Also, check if you installer set the changer up properly. Some changers have springs that need to be configured for either vertical or horizontal mounting. If the springs are not setup correctly, it could cause skipping problems.

one more thing you can try, clean the lens on your CD changer and make sure the thing ain't broke! I had the same problem years ago with a Sony CD Changerand the suspension was messed up...one of the little rubber bands inside broke.

I'm not sure how the stock changers are built but I don't think when they designed the stock changer they had lots of boomin' bass in mind. So it just may be that the changer sucks...like the rest of the stock HK system. You might have to move it out of the trunk.
