Diagnostic scanner

Hey, iv just got me a e46 330ci. I'm looking at getting one of the diagnostic tools from eBay. Are they easy to use and does anyone recommend which one I should get? Of course I do t don't want to be spending hundreds of dollars?

Take a look at Jfoj's "OBD Software and Interface" thread here: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=967204.

Plenty of options to look into and well worth the read. Should give you an idea of what tools are out there, their strengths and weaknesses, and what works best for your needs.
