Tire recommendation please..

Need a recommendation. Awesome dry traction but almost equally awesome wet traction a must (it rains a lot here). Looking for something quiet (relatively speaking) that will not get too much noisier as the tread wears. Price range is $170 / tire. Tire size will be 225/40 18. Must be at least W speed rated (duh).

Okay, let's hear your recommendations. So far I'm leaning towards the Bridgestone RE750 and the Firestone Firehawk SZ50 EPs. Anyone have any comments? New suggestions? Shoot 'em off!

Inser $0.02 here.

Gary, I don't know how I missed that but I think we have a winner.

How bad is the noise on the F1s? Will it make me wish I had a blow out so it would be quieter?

Okay, you know what I mean. Also, do you have any experience with how that tire wears? Will it get louder and louder and louder as the miles tick?

Thanks!!

These have been quieter than the S03 so far. I say 'so far' because the tire is fairly new so we've not had many (any?) reports of high mile noise. As a rule, almost all directional tires get somewhat louder as they wear. To date, we've been impressed with the GSD3... a bit of a suprise since its been awhile since we've tested a great performance tire from Goodyear.

Sounds good. I'll be ordering them with a set of BBS RCs (most likely) in the coming weeks. Do you guys accept pay pal?

Sorry, no paypal, but we do accept major credit cards or a US Postal Money order as payment. Just let me know when you're ready

Thanks for all your help, Gary. I ordered my Eagles and RCs and I just got the tracking numbers. I can't wait for them to arrive. Even more, I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can give them a try. Thanks for the great service you and the rest of the TireRack team have given me. I'll def. come to you guys for all my needs in the future.

I bought the Eagle F1 GS-D3's from the tire rack also, it's truely an awesom tire on dry and wet roads. Rated #1 Max-performance tire and I agree. Only have 950 miles on them so far, but they feel very sticky, and the improved steering response was quite noticable. They are also very quit. I posted pic's of my car with the Eagles in the members gallery, and a close up of the tread design/big footprint. Great choice, enjoy.

How do I get to those pics? I'd like to see them. Can you post a link or post the pics here?

Thanks,
Andy
