AA = shady.....

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...5&pagenumber=1

Check out these posts, VERY interesting and informative read....I for one will not be going to AA...ever. I will take my chances with ASA or ATP.

Although the situation was eventually dealt with, I do not want to be in that guy's shoes.

well, everyone has their own opinions of course, but I've been keeping up closely with that story as well and when it comes to "certified" shops to install stuff, what does that *really* mean? While I agree that it was a shame that had to happen to that guy, but such expensive mods like s/c'ers really can't be installed at any shop.
That's why I chose AA themselves to do mine. Sure, I could've had the kit shipped here to my bodyshop and I'm sure they would've done a great job, as they are an AA dealer and "certified" to install their products. But I felt 110% more comfortable having AA do the install because they know how their s/c'er is put together and such..
Also, not saying that AA is the only place to install s/c'ers, but you just gotta *really* shop around/talk to other ppl who had their stuff installed at a shop, etc..

Good luck on whatever you decide

If you read post #39 you will see that AA is taking care of the customer. It has been dealt with unlike other companies which has left the customer alone in the dark.

I'll still go with AA Tuning over ASA and ATP.

Yes, I did read it....but I would rather not go through a similar experience. Especially since no one knows if there is long term damage done to his car....and who's going to pick up THAT tab??? AA lol?

If its AA's fault due to a defective part then they will take care of it. If the fault was due installation error, then the shop should take care of it.

Highly doubt there is any long term damage done to the vehicle.

I see that you have missed the entire point of that thread....Let me give you a hint or two...

hint1: the faulty install was done by certified AA retailer/installer
hint2: the customer was without a car for a loooong time
hint3: the customer is without a car while they are "negotiating"
hint4: the customer is without a car until they figure out a solution and FIX it.
hint5: AA didn't rectify the situation (step up) immediately
hint6: AA has crappy connections(moderation over) with their so called "certified retailers/installers"

....need i continue. Did you read the post or are you just being a fanboy b/c you have an AA kit installed?

And as for long term damage, I dunno about you, but having a radiator implode while I'm driving would have me worried.

My 2 cents. I originally went with the AA SC (over the ESS SC and other kits) for my 2003 330i. My vehicle was a March production....first production of the ZHP. However, I live in Canada so at the time it was not considered a ZHP. Regardless, the March production (ZHP models) have a different ECU for which AA was not aware....even after about 6 months of production as I ordered the SC kit late in 2003. As a result, AA could not program the ECU after I discussed with them many times prior that my 330i was a new production run (6-speed 330i). Unfornately, my installer had installed the kit in completeness and was waiting on the ECU only to find out that they could not reprogram the ECU. Well, consistent with the common them of late...AA poor customer service.....I was left negotitating with AA on reimbursment of install costs. In the end, AA would not pay for about ~40% of the install costs and stuck me with all the shipping costs. Needless to say, I think AA's customer service sucks. I have the ASA SKI kit and have nothing to say but good things about Rennsport.

By the way, are there any other ZHP (or equivalant for Canadians) cars with SC's out there?

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with them. Although I have an AA s/c'er, I am not 'sucking' up or anything, just as my post above, I just wish the best for which s/c'er ppl decide to go with. It's one of the most expensive mods you can do and no one wants to be in the dark or get stuck with something they don't like.
Take care

it happens...

Regardless of whether the supercharger is AA, ASA, etc, I'm sure you will find people who have\had problems ... with every single one of those companies.

Before I got my charger, I combed every board and post about chargers that I could find. I always found at least one post complaining about the ASA, AA, ESS, etc. or some other supercharger by XXX. BMW will eventually sell a bad/defective car, Honda will eventually sell a bad/defective car. AA will eventually sell a bad/defective supercharger. The issue then becomes a quality control issue (and customer service). If you think AA has poorer quality control and customer service then ASA or ESS, well then go with ASA/ESS. But I wouldn't assume that ASA or ESS never sold a bad charger and that you wouldn't ever receive one.

No, one assumed that...the way AA handles such problems, is IMHO ridiculous.

Do you know who that is? I would be interested in discussing setups with them.

I want to know if ASA SK1 equipped cars can run 330 ZHP cams? And what performance gain will I have? I sold my Schrick Sport Cams because I was told it won't work right with ASA SK1....that being said, there's a local car here with modified ESS SC and running with Schrick Race cams...he said the car is SCARY after 3000rpm!!!

ZHP cams are recommended for the ASA application

I too am having my demons with my SC install (ASA SK1) from Rennsport, let me just say i am possibly on the hook for a bad compressor ($1650 USD) and have been without my car for close to 2 weeks now and have incurred significant additional costs not to mention the stress and agrivation to which I cannot even put a dollar amount on....the latest.... my new compressor is also hung up at customs as of today to top it all off.

My personal experience with AA has been pretty good. The sc kit is great, tech supports not bad (keep you on hold for awhile probably because they are busy, but then the tech guys are friendly, knowledgable, and helpful.)

I will say their install CD, for you DIYers crazy enough to try it like me, . . .sucks

besides that, I will vouch for AA
