e46 m52 323i squealing noise

Hi, my 1999 323i is making a squealing noise when running. The noise is loudest when I first start the car in the morning and its cold. When it warms up the noise gets low, but is still there. I popped the hood and it sounded like it was coming from the alternator belt, so I went and purchased a new belt and installed it, but the noise is still with the car. It almost sounds like its coming from the alternator. I took the belt off and checked the "play" on the pulleys, looking for a bad bearing, but all seemed fine. Can anyone tell me if the alternator makes a whinning noise before it goes out? My voltage warning never comes on, or any other warning. Can anyone tell me if they had this prob before and if they have any solutions. Thanks.

It could be

It could be the belt tensioner. This is what is adjusted to keep the belts tight.
