Carbon Fiber Fabric to wrap door panels similar to CSL style

Hello All,

I am playing with some ideas for my interior. I have dove grey (and intend on keeping it in some form or fashion)

I like the CSL CF door cards but I cannot reason with loosing my side airbag....I do like the two toned look though.

I was wondering if anyone here wrapped their door panels with the CF fabric so simulate this look while maintaining their airbags.

I did a quick photoshop of the area I am talking about. I planned on taking an actual photo of my interior and doing a better job photoshopping it for a final effect once the weather gets nicer.....

post up pics and or opinions....

thanks.

Having wrapped things before I can say that's going to be very difficult, Status Gruppe makes the CSL door inserts, might want to check that out, if you have the bills for it.

If money isn't the issue, why not just import the CSL then?

NO DOOR AIRBAGS IN A CSL !!!

lol no but honestly if they made these door panels with a way to retain the airbag i would buy them. I know its not genuine but I cannot rip out an airbag for something that serves no purpose other then a wow factor. I dont race, i dont need lighter door panels.

Is this what your door panel looks like? If so I would think you would have two options, however it may not be a simple "wrap" the fabric may have to be sewed on where the current stiching lines are which most likely need a professional to do.

1. wrap the area you highlighted as well as removing the airbag and wrapping the visible part of the airbag cover or whatever part shows.

2. Remove the airbag as well wrap the remaining area that you highlighted, reinstall airbag and that will remain stock color.
