My Ride: 98 Eclipse GS-T
Drag Racing Times for 323ci vs 328ci

I just sold my 98 eclipse GS-T. i was running 14s in the 1/4 mile... car was mildly modded as far as performance goes. i had the car a few years and when i was younger i was dumb and put a bodykit, clear tails, and some other ***** things on it. i got tired of all the dirty kids in pimped out escorts coming up to me and trying to talk to me because of my car. i also just graduated from college so i decided it was time to move on and get something better. so now the eclipse is gone and i'm still trying to decide what to buy. i love the 3 series BMW's. i originally was going to look for a 330CI, but they are still kind of pricey for me(paying back school loans and all). Then i was browsing edmunds.com and i discovered the 328ci and the 323ci. so i pretty much narrowed my search down to one of those 2 cars. i only plan on going to the drag strip maybe once or twice a month(in the summer) for fun. i can't find any real 1/4mile numbers for either of those cars. i know that the 330ci can run high 14's. i was wondering if anyone could post some times with their 328's and 323's. a lot of people post dyno numbers but i would like to see some numbers from the track. i plan on modding the car slightly right away then maybe next spring i would go for the supercharger kit. i could buy the 323 right now, but if i wanted to go to the 328 or 330 i'd have to wait until the end of the summer(to save up enough for a bigger downpayment). please post some times for me to help me decide what to do!!! thanks! (please dont flame me, i have seen a few posts where people say these cars arn't for people who want to drag race. i dont plan on doing it much, but i would just hope to put out some halfway decent times(atleast 15's).

5-Speed or auto? You should easily be able to get into the 15's, with both (assuming you're going to mod anyway). If you're looking to supercharge, then you shouldn't any problems.

i'm definitley looking for a 5 speed. i can't drive an auto. its to boring! i plan on modding resonably and then springing for the supercharger in a year or so. how reliable are these engines? like how many miles are they good for? i am sure they last awhile. one thing with my eclipse i was always worried that it would break down.
